Thank you to everyone who attended and presented at the 12th Annual Harvard Surgery Research Day! We hope you had an educational and enjoyable day.
The Harvard Surgery Research Day program provides the opportunity to recognize the amazing work that the surgical research fellows complete and for interaction between the surgical researchers across the four affiliated hospitals who comprise the HMS Department of Surgery — Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital.
This year’s symposium highlighted the exciting research activities of HMS residents, fellows, staff, and students. Trainees and staff presented work from across the four affiliated hospitals, featuring 16 oral presentations and 136 poster presentations. For more details from the day, as well as a full listing of the Poster Presenters, please click on the two links below.

A highlight of the event was a fascinating lecture on Short Bowel Syndrome in Children: Surgical Options and Scientific Opportunities by our Visiting Professor, Dr. Brad Warner. Additionally, Dr. Warner provided expert commentary and stimulated inquisitive discussion for many of the presenters.
